Afterthought Blended Barrel is our membership club. Members receive specialized clothing and glassware in addition to having the first right to purchase member beers, which will typically stay reserved for members only. These will include smaller-batch beers and one-off experiments.

2021-2022 Blended Barrel Information:

The Afterthought Blended Barrel membership program will offer members the right to purchase smaller-batch beers that are created with our members in mind. Members will have the initial right to purchase these beers. The 2021-2022 “Year Five” membership period will run from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022. Due to the nature of the beers being offered, we cannot provide the exact offering date for the first round of beers. The 2020-2021 membership is $100.00 and includes the following:

Two (2) Afterthought membership glasses (to be provided at the end of the period around the member party).
One (1) Afterthought membership shirt (to be provided at the end of the period around the member party).
The right to purchase at least twenty(20) 500mL members-only bottles (or equivalent volume), of which at least ten (10)of the 500mL (or equivalent) bottles will be a unique beer. Prices for 500mL are expected to be $10-15 per bottle, depending on the beer.
A members-only party toward the end of the membership period, offering pours of some of our favorite beers.

Please note that while members are our first priority for the bottles that will be offered, we do intend to sometimes offer limited quantities of these beers to local bars and restaurants that support our brewery on an “on premises only” basis (whether draft or “on site”bottles). Likewise, we will plan to hold back some member beers for on-site consumption at our taproom. Some of these beers will also possibly make appearances at festivals, competitions, and similar events. Finally, to the extent that there are leftover bottles after the member sale, those bottles will be sold to non-members on a “to go” basis. During this member period, pickup will be during open hours at our taproom located at 218 E. St. Charles Rd., Lombard, IL 60148. Members will be able to pick up beer in person or have their identified trustee pick up their order. We will not be able to ship beer. When bottles are ready for sale, members will be offered the opportunity to reserve the allotted amount using an electronic system.

If you wish to join and are a new member, in addition to paying the PayPal invoice, please also email info@afterthoughtbrewing. com providing your full name, address, age (simply confirming 21+ is acceptable), and shirt size. If you are a renewing member,please only email this information if it has changed from 2020-2021. If you will be using a trustee, please provide your trustee’s full name, address, and age (simply confirming 21+ is acceptable). Trustee information need not be provided at the time of signup, but must be supplied prior to when you wish to have a trustee pick up your bottles.

NOTE: By joining the Blended Barrel membership program, the member certifies that he or she is at least 21 years of age. Proof of age will be required to pick up membership bottles. If using a trustee, you consent to the release of your beers to the identified trustee, at which point Afterthought Brewing Company does not take any responsibility for the actions of that trustee in delivering the beer to the member. No refunds will be granted due to change in circumstances, lack of trustee, or any other reason. As detailed, this membership program is for 2021-2022. 2021-2022 members will have the first opportunity to join subsequent memberships, but Afterthought Brewing Company makes no guarantees as to the existence or structure of future membership programs.
